Back into it!
Have had a bit of a big couple of days training wise...
Between the last post and friday, i was miserable, cranky and not sleeping. By the end of the week i had a massive spac at several people. Least of which A copped. I worked out that I was feeling punk, a) because of massive work stress, b) general life stress and c) not exercising. I cant believe how much of an impact it has on my mood and general well being.
So after the spac on thursday, it was decided that i am indeed in need of regular exercise and sleep for me to maintain happy Linds...
So here is the exercise for the last couple of days..
Friday
Went for a 2k Swim after work, and yes, i can here you asking. I can still remember how to swim even though it has been months...the shoulders were feeling it on sat though. And just think if i keep it up, i might get my prison bitch arms back :) It took me about 45mins which is a bit slower than i used to be, but what i expected...going to try adn swim twice a week...
Saturday
Despite my best efforts it rained all day, and even though i attempted to take my bike out twice, it kept raining. So i went to the gym on a saturday night (this is really endorsing the not having a life thing isnt it?) I did 40mins on the bike at 100+ RPM and then ran for 10mins at 7.5k per hour.
Sunday
Got up wanting to try my new bike computer and jumped on for what i was hoping was going to be a 2 hour ride. Just had the ks showing up not the time i was travelling for, so i came home to find that i had done 30k and it had taken me 1:15 due to the hills and the wind. My avg speed was about 25k and the max was 38. I am assuming this happened while i was hurtling down a hill somewhere...In the arvo i went for a 30min run which was slow as it was the first proper run in a week due to the ankle. Was feeling a bit buggered by the end, think i did around 4k.
Monday
Went to the gym again as i am assuming that this is how alot of my winter exercise will have to be done. I was on the treadmill for 35mins. OUt of interest i decided that i would do a fitness test and was very disappointed when it informed me that i was very unfit. Bit of a worry. I showed it though..I then continued to run for another 30mins working up every k to a max speed of 10k per hour, which for me is my little legs looking like they are completey indepentant from my body... I then jumped on the bike and did a 10min hill course called kilamenjaro...it didnt feel that hard, and i kept the cadence at over 100 for the whole time.
Tuesday
Decided that i would do an easy cycle today as the legs were feeling a bit tender from the last couple of days. Rode 20ks in 55mins at an avg speed of 21k with a max of 38. had a bit of a headwind for the first half of the ride which no doubt didnt help. Kept the speed over 25k easily coming home though.
Wednesday
I am planning on going for a run any minute now....then a swim tonight...i swear i will!
Oh and as an aside i have managed to do some uni work this week, and may actually get the thesis finished sometime in the current century...

Enjoyed reading your post and can really identify with what you had to say. Running is the best antidote I have for coping with stress. Look forward to reading more.
