Semi Productive Week

Well after the poor effort last week at the vineyards i decided there best be some damage control :) So training it is!

Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 1 hour ride, 1.5k sprint swim
Wednesday: 90min run
Thursday:Rest
Friday: 30min run - 4k
Sat: 1hr ride, 20 min jog easy with dog

The plan for tommorrow is to try and have a run of substantial distance...am planning a bit of a special weekend though so we will see...

Hunter Valley Running Festival

Well my first 10k event is over! Thank God!

I would like to say that i had done so in spectacular fashion - however, safe to say that i did not do so and instead i had quite the poor form and disappointment. Anyway, all in time.

Saturday morning i got up and went for a bit of a ride around for an hour or so just to get some blood happening in the legs. Had a reasonably easy day on sat, and then in my traditional fashion ended up getting to bed at 3am not having dinner the night before and not being prepared (ie no fluids ) for the race....one day i will learn!

Anyway...i was cold when i started and then wasnt able to get into the groove...btw flat course my tooshie! there were some massive hills in there :) I ended up running with Phil who was coming last before he over took me and i became the last one.... i was struggling yesterday which i kind of expected to be due to the couple of weeks off but it was a big struggle...

I developed a pain in my chest around the 2k mark and was having alot of trouble breathing and had to walk a little at the end...according to my watch it was about 1:15 which is actually a pb for me for 10k...still bloody slow though :)

dont know about the half in a couple of weeks...dont think i would even make it? apparently the course is flatter though....any ideas?

The week so far

Well I am over the rain :)

Monday night - I decided against running in the rain and cold on monday night and I went and had coffee with my best mate instead.

Tuesday - 1.5k in the pool
Wednesday night - 30mins on the treadmill - 4k and 30mins on the bike at 100rpm+

Did i mention i am over the rain? and my issues with motivation remain solid!

Turns out that 2 of the girls that i am at uni with are doing the 10k on sunday followed by a Yum Cha lunch at 1pm....so i might only be able to do a couple of beers...

The Come Back Trail

Ok, so i have been out of action for a little while and was starting to stress a bit about the race next week...I held off going back to any kind of exercise before i was sure that i was over the most of the flu, depite my severe need to exercise....

so yesterday, i went to the gym and rode the bike for an hour (30k) and didnt feel too bad so i decided that i would face the running....

got up this morning and did a slow 40miin run around the cycleways near my house. I came home and didnt feel great, but was expecting to feel a whole heap worse...so thats a plus right?Still a bit worried about the race next week though, think i am going to struggle to get through the whole 10k....

will try and get some training in this week, and a couple of shortish runs...

have decided to do the hunter bike run on august the 6th as well! just in case the half doesnt work out :)

Thanks to everyone for reading my boring life rants! I am over it now :) Sometimes it is just about having a bit of a blah....

Last thursday i went to the pool with bec and did a k before she decided that we were going to retire....

Sunday i was in syd and did 15mins of stair running at 5:30am around my sisters appartment black (no doubt making myself very popular :)) cause it was too dark to run in an area that i didnt know...

I then got a cold thing and havent done anything so far this week...bit worried about attempting the half in 6 weeks, with reasonably poor training over the last month or so. Have registered for the 10k event next week at the vineyards though :)

now who will i be seeing there for beer afterwards?

Ranting - warning very boring stuff...

ok so the week i am having....i am going to note training, but i am having a shit of a week in other regards, so despite possibly not being the best forum, there are things i think i need to rant about. so ranting there shall be...

Firstly, the training...
Thursday - 2k swim
Friday - nada
Saturday - 2.5k - 16mins
Sunday - 2hour run about 13 or 14k from laurieton to dunboagan headland and back.
Monday - nada
Tuesday - 2k 5min, 6min
Wednesday - 60min hill ride, 1.5hour walk/run

I have been back to my chiro again today and she thinks the neck is coming along nicely..my headaches have stopped which makes me happy....

Secondly, Work....
We have had a contract change over this week, and i am looking to be in for a very stressful and annoying time over the next couple of months getting everything done, and sitting in front of my computer all day everyday doing paperwork which is precisly why i work with clients, so i can do paperwork....anyway, the 11hour days, plus the 3hours travelling is putting a serious dent in my ability to do any suitable amount of training...

Thirdly, uni....
Well, my supervisor has gone on sabatical, not marked or submitted my research proposal and has not made any kind of effort to actually be supportive at uni...i also cant organise my placements and no-one is answering my emails....wow, i wish i wasnt paying for this degree...that and the fact that i am trying to get this finished by the end of the year and getting incredibly frustrated as it seems it isnt going to happen....

Forthly, the personal life...
Not that this is at all relevant to anything, but something that is causing me some grief at the moment...am having a bit of an up and down with my partner which is causing me quite the confusion and a bit of trouble being motivated to do anything....i did make it out the door on tuesday morning for a run, which i havent done in ages, but still i am going to have to learn how to reclaim myself again....this has included starting to wear my perfume again that they were allergic too, getting my training happening again and getting back to being me...dont know how well it is working though....i am sick of this happening so have taken a vow of the celebacy and am not going to be in a relationship ever again....

I need a holiday....
