Bay Run - 7k

Well well...I did the bay run this morning.. I also talked my sister into doing it with me which was pretty awesome. So, we took our little bums down to Leichart Rowing Club and started from there...was freezing cold, and for the first 4k could not fell my arms or hands at all :)

Wasnt too bad a run, as we have spoke about earlier, my sister runs alot faster than me so we had to have a couple of breaks, so overall i guess it probably worked out the same time that I would have run at my snail pace that i can handle for much longer....but all good ;) Had a pretty good time, and used the rabbit technique, where i picked someone in front and chased them down!

I think by my timing, it took me about 50mins...which is pretty close to my normal 7k time...

Did some bike training this week, and will be up in the morning for some more...

Blah Blah Blah

Dispondent is the best word i have right now.

Instead of today going and running my tooshie off in the vineyards and taking some serious time off my someone crap effort from last year, I spent the day in bed, with a virus that has left me with no energy and incredibly sore joints...

Talk about crappy. Made worse of course by one of my mates who happened to point out to me, that since she has known me, about a year, i havent actually raced and doesnt really believe that i do...and kinda made fun of the idea of me doing the olympic distance this year...

Maybe she is right. Feel pretty damn crap right now.

Will be in syd next week so have the option of doing the bay run...didnt wanna push myself, cause i figured i would be worse off...but i am not a fan of feeling like a quitter...

In addition to this, my personal life has again fallen to shit, and it looks like the job that i love i will prob have to give up at the end of the year so i can finish off my stupid degree...sucks man!

training run

Well I thought i best make an effort today! turns out that it was an effort, well for the first k, then after that i was running at cruising altitude...probably ended up putting about 35 mins in, and did some stairs on the way, just to make it interesting...

so around carrington i went, not sure how far - obviously not 10k but didnt feel too bad...prob wont put too much running in this week, make sure I have fresh legs, just some time on the bike.

plan is, i am gonna try out the course for the foreshore triathlon in nov, its the olympic distance, so a bit further than i would normally go, but figuring if i can get the 10k run under control, thats the biggest hurdle i have, and the run course is really flat and where i train anyway...

so... (i am putting these down so that i have a record and you guys can give me a hard time if i dont do them)

Lake Mac Half - 10k event - August
Olympic Distance - Nov
OUt games - 10k run and 400m swim in Jan

There will be others, not sure of them yet!

Point Woolstonecraft!

Well, I have spent the last week at Point Wooly for work at the sport and rec camp with 60 young people! Had a great time, but completley exhausted, you would be amazed about just how tiring it is to be responsible for all activities for 6 days....yeah, ok I am a whinger...I have the best job in the world!

Anyway...training wise...

Monday - nothing
Tuesday- game of touch football with the Members
Wednesday- 7 k walk
Thursday - 7k run in about 45mins
Friday- 1 hour BMX on tough hill track, 30 mins run with Members
Saturday - too totaled to do anything...

Its the goal tommorrow morning, to either go for a run up the fernleigh track or a ride....have the winery festival next week, and clocked an 1:15 last year for the 10k so hopefully i might be able to do better this time....although I am a little bit hesitant...

Well...I know this will be a shock to everyone (least of which me) but I have been training again!!!

Monday - 20min run with my sister (which for me is much more like a sprint...) she even made me do stair sprints...on the upside, i realised that she is pretty awesome in the short term - but over more than 20 mins I come alive and she is starting to struggle, and soemthing that i need to keep in mind when my brain is telling me to stop running...

Tuesday - took my puppy out for some hill training near her house. Did about 20 mins of some undulating hills (words that i would before running would ever have put in a sentence) and then 6 hill repeats on about a 2 min hill climb...did it at night, so was really cold, but felt good while it was happening!

Wednesday - off (i worked late...)

Thursday - 10 min stair climb - this still kills me!

Friday - 1hr on the bike (very windy) cruised around at prob about 30k an hour (my little computer thing isnt working again...) but was judging it based on how fast i was going in relation to the cars, and how easily i was overtaking the other people on bikes! I then did a 20 min run on a pretty hilly course felt pretty awesome when i was done though :)

Sat - Off (worked all night friday, so sat was pretty much a write off)

Sun - Just ran from Jesmond park to the top of the john hunter (which is about 1.5k) each way. The up trip was done in 11 mins the reverse took 15...I am not sure how that works, but it highlights that i need to maybe work on the downhill part anyway....

still not feeling overly confident for the 10k in a couple of weeks, but we will see!!!!

Woe is me...

Well I am again the slack blogger...mmm maybe I should just have that on my title...

Few things have been happening training wise, but have been away with work a fair bit, so I havent been having as much time as I would like to...

Went and did some hill training today, and working in prep for the 10k in a couple of weeks...been having some personal life dramas, which have been making the motivation a bit harder to come by so....
