Well the news isnt great!

well i took hilary to the shop....yep, apparently tightening the gears wont help, and the $500 it will cost to refit the gears etc it might be an option to do the whole buying a new bike thing...what kind of bike though? i am only about 160cm and 53kg, do i need to buy a womens bike or can i do a small mens one? good brands, cheapness? any ideas anyone *Linds looks flumoxed!* I also have a reasonably new hybrid and a mountain bike mmm, maybe i should trade all three!

anyway, i went for a 1hour and 12 minute run yesterday, and paced myself. The way there i paced at around 8mins a k and then picked it up and took 2 mins off the return trip....however, i now have a bit of a niggle in my knee and figure its just cause i have been spending more time on it. Have taken today off exercise though....

Have also been having some weird pain in my left shoulder which has been coming into my elbow? Not sure if it is a cold thing or a weird massage related thing? Has anyone had anything like this before?

hey lins - if you're looking at a women's specific frame, I've heard lots of good reviews on the new Sub Zero Pro range distributed by Avanti. Check out the latest Ride mag in the shops, or look here:

Mind you, all the girls I ride with up here are very happy with teh small frames in the Cannondale, Giant and Trek range

Hi Lins,
Sounds like poor hilary is headed for the glue factory :(
Sorry I can't help with bikes...just trying to resist the temptation to spend up on one myself. Jodie from jorex-jorex.blogspot.com is in your area and might be able to assist or recommend a good bike shop to help you out though.

Bugger about the bike. At least it was cheap. In days gone by I would have blown that money in a night out on the town.
Actually, I wish something would go wrong like that with my bike then I have an excuse to buy a cool new one ;)
I have no idea about bikes either so can't suggest anything other than work out your budget and shop around for what suits you at that price.
